Bio Born and raised in Mississippi. Would like to consider myself an enlightened redneck. My mother always told us "If you were born in Mississippi then you have some redneck in you". My mother being the original steel magnolia (raised 8 kids on her own).
I am a card-carrying member of the ACLU and am on the Board of Directors for the Anti-death Penalty Group (MESJ) in Mississippi. I am Pro-choice and Pro-life (yes you can be both). I am still anti-George Bush and own all the Dixie Chicks CDs. Am an adult member of the Girl Scouts and am on 2 different PTA boards. Support public education by buying beers and/or coffee at the corner pub/cafe on Fridays for my children's teachers after a tough week. (They love me.) We recycle and don't use "plastic or paper".Hope Excited to be voting for Obama next this November.
Avid listener to Fresh Air and Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me and CarTalk on NPR. My children both admire and are embarrassed by my taste in music. Love The Who, Pink Floyd, Yes, Moody Blues, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, etc. but also John Denver and the Carpenters. The list is endless. Favorite movie ever - Lawrence of Arabia, Favorite book ever - The Godfather.
Work two part time jobs to have more flexibility in order to spend more time with the two kids we still have at home. Mother of 4, 2 at college (LSU and Ole Miss) and 2 high schoolers. Married (this go around) for 19 years.
Was once all about Drarry now it's Snarry for me. Wish I could write but only can read. But will be glad to clean your house in return for the great stories.
